Alec is 15 yrs old and a sophomore at Serra High School in San Diego. He enjoyed playing football and golf for Serra. Regarding the Burrito Boyz, Alec states: “When i started to do this in November 2010 i thought we were only going to do this for a couple of weeks, but when we delivered our first burrito, i knew we were going to do this for a long time and hope to inspire other kids throughout the nation to take action.”
Julian is 16 yrs old and a sophomore at Serra High School in San Diego. He has enjoyed playing basketball, water polo and swim team for Serra. Regarding the Burrito Boyz, Julian stated; “I joined hunger 2 help so I could help others who aren’t as fortunate as I am. I love seeing the warm smiles when I hand out the burritos. I feel it is better to give than receive. I hope this inspires kids all over the nation to help out anywhere they can.” Julian looks forward to continuing H2H throughout high school.
Luke is 16 yrs old and has been an officer with Hunger 2 Help since its first trip to downtown San Diego back in November, 2010. He is a sophomore at Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego. Luke said of the Burrito Boyz: “What I like most about being involved with H2H are the warm smiles I receive when I hand out a hot burrito. It let’s me know I’m doing the right thing.”
Nick is 16 yrs old and a sophomore at Serra High School in San Diego. He enjoys playing socce & lacrosse for Serra. He has been volunteering at H2H since the early stages of the organization’s inception. Regarding Burrito Boyz, Nick said: “Every Sunday we turn a corner and see 500-600 people calling our names and waiting patiently for their morning breakfast.” Nick looks forward to doing this charity work for as long as he can.
Cole is 16 yrs old and a sophomore at Serra High School in San Diego. Cole enjoys playing tennis and cross country for Serra. He loves being part of the Burrito Boyz because he wants to give back to those less fortunate. “Each time we serve, it reminds me of how fortunate we are to have so much and I am so thankful for what I have in my own life and how I get to share it with others”.
Justin is 16 yrs old and a sophomore at Serra High School in San Diego. Justin enjoys his role in Student Government at Serra and playing on the basketball team. His favorite part about Hunger 2 Help is delivering the warm burritos to the homeless population in downtown San Diego. Justin states, “When you hand someone a burrito, a big smile comes on their face and that’s an amazing feeling.” Justin is still involved in H2H and plans on doing it for as long as he can.
Joe is 15 years old and a sophomore at Serra High School in San Diego. Joe enjoys playing football and soccer for Serra. Regarding the Burrito Boyz, he enjoys preparing food for his homeless friends in downtown San Diego. Joe especially appreciates the connections and bonds he has made with the homeless.”I was very surprised at how kind the homeless were to us and the quick connections we have made.” Joe looks forward to continuing the H2H tradition every Sunday.
